This transdisciplinary research builds upon the Climate Resilient Citizenry research project, with a specific focus on low-income households. In the face of rising heat stress driven by climate change and Urban Heat Island effects, this research seeks to deepen our understanding of how low-income communities can adapt to increasing heat stress in a sustainable way – environmentally, financially and behaviourally. Findings will inform the development and piloting of solutions that can be led and driven by the community for this vulnerable population.

This multi-institutional project is led by the Lee Kuan Yew Centre for Innovative Cities at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), in partnership with the National University of Singapore (NUS).

This research is funded by Tote Board.
