Biography
Dr. Puthearath Chan is President of ASI Research Group and has 15+ years of experience as National and Regional Project Coordinator, Senior Researcher and Lecturer, and Supervisor for various urban and sustainability projects/courses with national and international research universities, inter-governmental and governmental organizations, such as ASEAN, ADB, GGGI & GIZ, and UN Agencies, such as UNDP, UNCDF, UNOPS & UNITAR. He is one of the Editors of Cambodia’s First National Climate Report (NCR) 2025.
He has been awarded Singapore Academies Southeast Asia Fellowship 2024 and appointed Research Fellow at the Lee Kuan Yew Centre for Innovative Cities, SUTD, in 2025. Prior to this appointment, he has served as an Advisory Board Member and Professor at the Faculty of Engineering, Paragon International University from 2020 to 2025. In addition, he is also a Visiting Professor to an International Dual Master’s Program at the French Cooperation Department, RULE and Lumière University Lyon 2, France.
Dr. Chan has been appointed 22nd Research Laureate of CHEY Institute for Advanced Studies 2021-2022. He obtained a graduate diploma from AgroStudies International Center Ruppin Campus, ISRAEL, and a Ph.D. in urban and regional development, focused on sustainable development goals (SDGs), from Hanyang University Seoul Campus, South KOREA. He also got a Certified Edu. in circular entrepreneurship from the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT Certified), New York, USA.
He is supporting Samuel and team on the Urban Environmental Sustainability Programme.
