Biography

Long is attached to the “Citizen Urban Science: Policy and Practice" project. He is a Political Science and Public Policy fresh graduate from Singapore Management University, where he was honored with the Kwek Hong Png-SMU School of Social Sciences Valedictorian Award upon graduation.

His passion lies in learning about problems and phenomena which affect people's lives and especially in how people adapt in response to such dilemmas. Long believes public policy is a major driving force in improving people's lives and hopes his work could go toward that effort wherever possible. Coming from Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, urban issues, from the number of trees to the size of sewer grates, have always been a particular area of interest for him and he often finds himself thinking back to the city in his daily life as well as in his coursework. It is a unique and messy place and it commands one's attention and care. Thus, he would like to work toward helping the city and its inhabitants in one way or another, be it through public policy or through empowering people. Though, maybe he just has a major case of homesickness. Aside from work, his hobbies include reading, games, and jogging.
