Chairman, The Esplanade Company Ltd

Lee Tzu Yang graduated from the London School of Economics and Political Science in 1976 and joined Shell in 1979. After a distinguished career in different markets, he retired in 2014 as Chairman of Shell Companies in Singapore. He is a member of the Council of Presidential Advisers and the Legal Service Commission of Singapore, and he chairs the Workplace Safety and Health Council, as well as the Middle East Institute at the National University of Singapore. He is Deputy Chairman of the Casino Regulatory Authority and a member of the advisory board of the Centre for Liveable Cities. He co-chaired the Water Focus Group for the Singapore Green Plan 2012 and chaired the Water Network from 2004-2010 which brought together People, Public and Private sector interests in water. He was the founder chairman of the School of the Arts in 2005, and also led the Arts and Culture Strategic Review for Singapore in 2012. He has been a board member of the Esplanade since 2003 and took over the role of Chairman of the Board in January 2015. He was awarded the Public Service Star in 2005 and the Meritorious Service Medal in 2014.
