Samuel Chng, Research Fellow
Samuel Chng has been awarded the International Leadership Summit Travel Grant by the Golden Key International Honour Society for CANCON 2019 Leadership Summit. He will receive his award in Toronto in February 2019. Golden Key is the world’s largest collegiate honour society and this leadership summit brings together student leaders, alumni members and academic faculty/administration from around the world together to learn from one another and become part of a vast network internationally.
Thijs Willems, Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Thijs Willems’ PhD thesis was named the best thesis of the Faculty of Social Sciences in the VU University Amsterdam. His thesis, ‘Monsters’ and ‘Mess’ on the Railways: Coping with Complexity in Infrastructure Breakdowns, studied various infrastructure breakdowns in the Dutch railway system, ranging from daily delayed trains to a winter-storm and railroad suicides.
