LKYCIC Chair Professor Chan Heng Chee delivered her first lecture as S R Nathan Fellow on 18 June 2020. In the lecture, Professor Chan outlined four key challenges the world faces today — disruption, faltering democracy, floundering capitalism and the unraveling of the world order. The lecture, which was livestreamed on IPS’ Facebook page, was moderated by Professor Danny Quah, Dean of Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy.

Professor Chan was appointed by IPS as the 7th S R Nathan Fellow for the Academic Year 2019/20. As the S R Nathan Fellow, Professor Chan pursues research related to public policy and governance in Singapore. Previous S R Nathan Fellows include Ho Kwon Ping, Bilahari Kausikan, Peter Ho, Lim Siong Guan, Cheong Koon Hean and Tan Tai Yong.
